sweet smell, heat smell

sweet syrupy thickness clouding
with my pink tipped toes peeking through the bottoms
browned on the cement sidewalks and
wet, sticky, squishy in the rain leaking into the cloth rubber bottoms.

why do we love thick smells, even when they're terrible? smells you cant like unless you know them, get used to them. just like tastes that grow on you; no one really drinks a beer and thinks hot damn! THIS IS THE TASTE!
