i feel like i had the same memory this morning hugging you in the hallway

except i am older
and taller
and pressed against you,
both in plaid button-up shirts
both sleepy from waking up

and i looked down at my waist and your waist and felt like id seen this before
except now im old enough to be the girl and im not interrupting the hug

and for some reason ive never felt so weirdly grown up
